The Red Address Book by Sofia Lundberg was a perfectly charming generational story that pays homage to all the experiences a person undergoes throughout their life. The main protagonist, Doris, is an individual who reminds me so much of Betty White. While they vary greatly in character I write this comparison to show how captivating and vivacious Doris was throughout the novel. Lundberg chronicles this story of an elderly woman (Doris) contemplating on her life as she shares all her intimate, outstanding moments with pure heart and a tug of heartache. Ultimately in The Red Address Book, the author vitalizes the art of storytelling and the generational importance of passing down stories through oral tradition.
