A Curse Of Roses

Last month I was absolutely spellbound by #ACurseofRoses by @pinguicha. The amount of heartfelt writing woven into this #ownvoices work tugged at my heartstrings through the voice of our protagonist Yzabel. Her exploration of the self and the inner struggles she faced that clashed with the oppression of the society surround her made me read this book in one sitting.

This Portuguese read like a classic fairytale through @pinguicha poetic narrative that explored the depths of the heart, faith in oneself, the intensity of self harm, oppression, and homophobia.
