In this magnificent work, I was absolutely absorbed by A Sisterhood of Secret Ambitions and how Elsie’s character developed throughout the course of the book. I especially enjoyed that there was a great fluidity in the narrative and the body image representations. The sorting of what training women receive from spinsters to mothers, wives, gossips makes for interesting categorization. The narrative itself makes it evident that author Sheena Boekweg was well invested in the development of her characters.
Overall, I’d definitely recommend this read for fans of Courtney Summers, this will be the read for you!
